Morpeus8 Radiofrequency Microneedling
An FDA-cleared, non-surgical treatment combining microneedling with radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen & remodel subdermal adipose tissue.
What is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is an innovative microneedling treatment that combines radiofrequency (RF) energy with Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) for advanced skin rejuvenation.
By stimulating collagen production and remodelling subdermal tissue, it helps achieve firmer, smoother, and more youthful-looking skin.
Morpheus8 targets fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven texture. It delivers exceptional results for facial rejuvenation.
Additionally, Morpheus8 is the first FDA-cleared fractional RF device with advanced SCALE and BURST functionalities, enabling RF energy to reach multiple depths in a single pulse. Fitzgerald Private Clinic was one of the first clinics in Ireland to invest in this updated technology.
How does it work?
Morpheus8 Burst operates through a sophisticated system that combines microneedling with fractional radiofrequency (RF) technology to target subdermal layers of the skin. Here’s how it works:
Microneedling Technique: The device uses a series of tiny needles that penetrate the skin at different depths. These microneedles create micro-injuries in the skin, which trigger the body’s natural healing process, promoting the production of collagen and elastin.
Fractional RF Energy: As the needles penetrate the skin, they also emit RF energy. Unlike traditional microneedling, the addition of RF energy heats the underlying layers of the skin, enhancing collagen and elastin production even further. This thermal energy helps to rejuvenate the skin more efficiently than microneedling alone.
Adjustable Penetration Depths: Morpheus8 Burst features various tips that can target different tissue depths, from superficial layers to deeper subdermal tissues. This adjustability allows us to customise the treatment based on the specific needs of the area being treated, whether it’s fine lines on the face or more pronounced textural issues on the body.
Sequential RF Delivery: The device delivers RF energy in a controlled, sequential pattern. This means that higher energy is delivered to deeper tissue layers and reduced energy to more superficial ones, ensuring comprehensive treatment that maximises skin rejuvenation without compromising on safety.
Programmable Pulse and Energy Levels: Morpheus8 Burst can be programmed to deliver energy in specific patterns and pulses, catering to the unique contours and conditions of the patient’s skin. This targeted approach helps achieve more precise results, optimising the rejuvenation process.
Who is this treatment best suited for?
Morpheus8 is a great advanced step-up from traditional microneedling. It is suitable for overall rejuvenation, collagen stimulations, texture improvements and targeting scars. We can also, if appropriate, carefully focus depths & energies on pockets of unwanted fat eg under the chin. Our experienced team focus on safe treatments as well as longterm results so are always cognisant of avoiding unwanted fat loss.
As we age our fibroblast cell activity reduces, as does their ability to be stimulated to reproduce collagen & elastin, therefore it’s important to think about collagen-stimulating procedures like Morpheus8 or SkinPen medical microneedling earlier rather than later to achieve best possible results.
How often should I have this done? [freq/course/maintenance]
This will be planned at your consultation prior to your first treatment (please book separately).
In general, as a guide, if your main aim is for overall rejuvenation 2-3 treatment 4-6 weeks apart are recommended.
If you are addressing scarring more treatments may be recommended, with the option of a ‘resurfacing tip’ add-on also.
A maintenance treatment every 6-12 months, or as desired, can benefit.
Is there downtime after this treatment?
After the procedure you will be red and the skin can be puffy in the treated areas. Some may bruise. The initial redness usually subsides quickly (mostly within a few hours) and for 3-5 days following the procedure you may feel your skin is dry, has a rough texture or maybe swollen. Overall downtime can vary from person to person, from a few hours to a week or more, with most settling quickly. We offer a Calecim or Cellderma add-on to assist with healing time and skin comfort.
How long does it take? [+/- options?]
Your Morpheus8 treatment to the face and neck requires 30-40 minutes for your topical prescription numbing cream to take effect and a similar time to complete the treatment. Most find the treatment very tolerable, any uncomfortable parts to the treatment last seconds and discomfort passes quickly.
We can advise you on the option of adding resurfacing to complete your treatment for further results.
What are the usual pre-treatment guidelines?
As for all skin treatments we ask you to remove makeup prior to arrival so you can get the most from your treatment time.
Skin must be free from infection, coldsores, acute inflammation so treatment can proceed.
