Skin Concerns
Scalp, Neck & Body
Even though we focus our attention on facial skin issues and health at Fitzgerald Private Clinic, we also have some options for other areas including scalp, neck & body.
Where should I start?
A careful consultation including with one of our team focusing on your area of concern will help guide you on your first steps
What are the non-surgical neck treatment options?
The neck can be a complex area to treat owing to the multiple issues that can occur here eg skin laxity, double-chin, crepeyness & overactive platysmal muscle.
Non-surgical options certainly have their place, but we need to discuss realistic expectations from each option at your consultation.
Simple measures are to always include your neck in your skincare routine including moisturising, retinoids as tolerated & always SPF.
In-clinic treatments such as SkinPen, FPC SkinTrinity & Morpheus8 also offer potential improvements from collagen stimulation.
Profhilo & Polynucleotides can help where the main issue is crepeyness.
If the skin here is very loose eg from ageing or weight loss, realistically a surgical opinion would be advised for you to consider all your options.
If your main issue is a double-chin from a collection of fat, Morpheus8 can help if minor to moderate, but if it’s a significant issue for you, seeking an opinion from a Plastic Surgeon regarding potential options including submental liposuction is a sensible idea.
What options do we have for scalp health/hair loss?
Hair loss is often distressing for the individual, be it overall thinning or larger balding areas. There are so many potential causes of this including stress, rapid weight loss, hormones, genetics and many more.
Seeking a definite diagnosis from a Consultant Dermatologist is advised before attending our clinic so you can be aware of all your options, some of which may need to be prescribed by them.
At Fitzgerald Private Clinic we offer the Calecim Advanced Hair System. This involves using fine needles to open tiny channels in the scalp and the application of the stem-cell derived serum immediately after. This works by:
Encouraging hair follicle cell growth
Suppressing inflammation and hormonal cues that cause follicle cell death
Stimulates hair follicle development
Prolongs the hair growth phase
The system can be used at home with the needle-stamper provided, or ideally with at least one in-clinic session of scalp SkinPen medical microneedling to allow for deeper penetration of the product.
Obagi Medical have just released s scalp serum that can be applied directly to the scalp without needles. This is Obagi Nu-Cil BioStim Hair Density Scalp Serum, and uses BioStim technology to hydrate, soothe, repair, and balance the scalp to create an optimal environment for hair growth.
What other places in the body can we treat?
At Fitzgerald Private Clinic we offer add-on options of many treatments that usually treat the face and neck, but can also benefit the hands, inner upper arms & belly-button area for example.
SkinPen, FPC SkinTrinity, Morpheus8, Lumecca Peak can help with rejuvenation in these places.
Profhilo and Polynucleotides are injectable options to improve these areas further.
As always, never forget the simple measures such as applying your excess skincare and spf to your hands.
If there is major laxity in the stomach or arm area, a Plastic Surgeon opinion would be recommended.
