Lumecca Peak IPL
A next-generation, high-powered IPL treatment designed to significantly improve skin tone and clarity in fewer sessions.
What is Lumecca Peak IPL?
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is an advanced, non-invasive treatment that uses high-intensity light pulses to target and correct a range of skin concerns. Unlike lasers, which emit a single wavelength of light, IPL delivers multiple wavelengths to precisely target pigment, redness, and vascular irregularities within the skin, while leaving surrounding tissue unaffected.
At Fitzgerald Private Clinic, we use the industry-leading Lumecca Peak IPL by InMode, a next-generation device renowned for delivering faster, more powerful treatments with superior results. Lumecca Peak is clinically proven to improve skin tone and clarity, with visible results often achieved after just one session.
Who is this treatment best suited for?
Lumecca Peak IPL effectively addresses a wide range of skin concerns, including:
Sun damage and pigmentation (sun spots, age spots)
Facial redness and vascular lesions (rosacea, spider veins, broken capillaries)
Uneven skin tone.
Skin rejuvenation - stimulating collagen for brighter, clearer skin
It is suitable for treating areas such as the face, neck, décolletage, hands, and other sun-exposed areas.
What does the treatment involve?
We always arrange a specific IPL patch test at least 48 hours prior to your first planned treatment. This allows us to assess your skin’s response to energies so we can plan the best and safest treatment for you. Protective eyewear is applied before we begin delivering controlled pulses of broadband light to the targeted areas. The sensation is often likened to a quick snap of an elastic band, accompanied by a gentle warmth.
Our Lumecca Peak device stands apart for its advanced built-in cooling system, which soothes the skin with every pulse and minimises discomfort. For deeper or more stubborn concerns, multiple wavelengths, multiple passes, and a course of treatments may be recommended to achieve optimal results.
How often should I have this done?
Initial results are often seen after 1 treatment but depending on the degree of pigmentation or vascularity an average of 3-4 treatments may be recommended, approximately a month apart.
As all skins will naturally produce more pigmentation & vascularity over time, a maintenance treatment every 6-12 months may be desired.
Is there downtime after this treatment?
This is a non-invasive treatment but there is usually some redness (akin to a sunburn look and feel), darkened pigmentation & possible bruising. Though not common a dark bruise can occur and can take up to 2 weeks to fade.
What are the usual pre-treatment guidelines?
As for all skin treatments we ask you to remove makeup prior to arrival so you can get the most from your treatment time.
Skin must be free from infection, coldsores, acute inflammation so treatment can proceed.
A patch test is required at least 48 hours before your first treatment.
Avoid sun exposure & tanning beds for 4 weeks before each treatment.
No self-tanner/shimmer/tanning drops on or near the treatment area for 2 weeks before.
Discontinue the use of retinoids, acids, and photo-sensitising medication (if medically safe) 7 days before treatment.
Avoid waxing, threading, or depilatory creams on the area for 2 weeks before session.
What are the usual post-treatment guidelines?
Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 4 weeks and wear a broad-spectrum SPF daily.
Do not use active ingredients (retinol, acids, exfoliants) for 7 days.
Avoid strenuous exercise, hot baths, and saunas for 48 hours.
